If in the opinion of the selectmen of said town the estate which I leave at the time of my death is insufficient to carry out the above purposes in an adequate and generous manner, I authorize and empower the said selectmen to allow said fund to remain unused in the savings bank for not exceeding ten years, adding the interest to the principal so that the amount may be more adequate.
(2) I nominate and appoint John W. Porch of Bristol to be executor hereof.

The above subscribing witnesses, Emma F. Peck of Bristol and Alice J. Nelson of Bristol being duly sworn, depose and say: That they witnessed the within will of Miss Elizabeth Hawley and subscribed the same as witnesses at the request of the testator and in her presence, and in the presence of each other and of the third attesting witness, Epaphroditus Peck: That said Peck also witnessed said will and subscribed the same as witness at the request of the testator and in her presence and in the presence of the deponents; that the testator subscribed and sealed the same and declared it to be her last will and testament in the presence of the deponents and of said Peck; that she then seemed to the deponents to be of sound and disposing mind and memory; and that they make this affidavit at the request of the testator.
